I believe that it is not a group of capitalists, nor a group of political conspirators, and certainly not the governments that decide how we will live and die. To the extent that we humans really decide anything it is the philosophers who do the ultimate deciding. The problem is that philosophy is a difficult subject so it's easier to think of villains and political action against them, right or left.

Colleen's poem No Way Out" reminded me of this reality. "The Most Terrible Century" is a beginning of an explanation of my thoughts about the philosophies that underly our ideas and our actions today.
